Have you ever said yes to doing something so you wouldn’t miss out on the activity or the opportunity but then it was just a stressful or overwhelming situation that you didn’t completely enjoy? Maybe just me. :p I’m a recovering-ish people-pleaser so I’ve definitely been there.
Productivity is not about doing more, it’s doing what most important.
I frequently have friends ask me what I’m reading or what I recommend, so hopefully, these posts are helpful in giving you some ideas. If there’s a certain topic you’re looking for, let me know and I’ll see if I can direct you to a book. 🙂

Being a life-long learner and bookwormish means I read some pretty random things sometimes. I mean, if I run out of stuff, I read the backs of cereal boxes or car magazines. Sometimes it doesn’t even matter if it is stuff I agree with or not. I really think we can learn something from everything.
Here’s my *October Book:
If there was ever a volunteer opportunity and no one else raised their hand to help with, you can almost be certain I would end up doing the job. Sometimes it was great to be able to contribute but many times that wasn’t the case. It wasn’t so much the fear of missing out (FOMO) but that I would think someone will not be helped if I wasn’t the one to do it. BUT as I reflected on some of the things I’ve said yes to, I realized it wasn’t really helping anyone…not all the time anyway. Sometimes I was already overbooked and most of the time (remember I’m slightly HSP) I would not be able to fully function the following hours or day. That can’t be good for completing my actual work and/or for my family.
I have already implemented some of the things that Tonya teaches before this book came out but from experience, I know that there is sometimes the joy of missing out in something that perhaps we weren’t supposed to say yes to…but we just won’t know it unless we regularly process what we’ve already committed to and how big our plate is in the current season.
