Why Her?

In Why Her?, Nicki Koziarz asks the question that many of us ask as the title states – Why Her? I don’t doubt it was a challenge decades ago knowing that everyone raves about your friend’s casserole or you see the lovely roses in your neighbor’s carefully curated garden, but now we “contend” with millions of others with a peek into their lives through Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, and Pinterest. If there’s something to be said about greener grasses, then don’t look at the weeds in my front yard. Yikes! (Unless you can help me fix it, then I’m sending over a SOS.)

We will not let this struggle wreck us. We will learn to love this life again that God has entrusted to us. I will be the best me. You will be the best you. And she will be the best her. Because truth, like always, will set us free. And because free women don’t need to measure up to anybody. Not even her.

Beauty in Becoming

There’s something amazing as we watch babies grow. And boy, do they grow so quickly those first few years. They arrive not really know how to use those little hands and feet of theirs, but they slowly figure out how they work and they start to grab at all the things. Babbling become words, crawling become standing become walking become running, scribbles become writing, and beyond that, we have speeches and marathons and novels. We all start somewhere. And who we become is, in part, due to our choices. Life can get tricky when we see someone getting through the process faster or we look at someone who has already “arrived.” It is easy to see their end and compare it to where you are and decide it’s better to give up now. But there is a beauty in the journey each of us takes to become who God made us to be.

Encouragement through the Truth

Nicki digs into the story of two sisters in the Bible – Rachel and Leah. She shared 6 truths we need to hear when measuring up leaves us falling behind (like title tagline states ;p). Two chapters each help us to understand one of the truths. I love the “This & That” section at the end of the chapter where there is a question we need to wrestle with and some encouraging words to remember.
