Remember God

As I was starting to read this book, I realized that I’ve never read a book by Annie Downs. I’ve read her blog posts and social media posts. I have several of her books on my to-eventually-buy-one-day wishlist which is pretty much just a list of all the books on Amazon. I even have friends who are friends with her. So now I think some of those books will be coming off the list as they come into my hands. I think I’m going to need a bigger book budget.

But I hear Him in the back of my mind, reminding me that we finish every story we start together, He and I. It’s actually one of the things God is really known for: Finishing. Completing. Not leaving things undone.

True to the transparency Annie has demonstrated on social media, she vulnerably and authentically shares about many things in this book – from the beginning to the end. Story after story of how God shows up when she least expects Him to because it seemed like He was not there or had forgotten her. And isn’t that with how we are sometimes, especially when things are going smoothly, that we unconsciously forget that God is the one who helps us to do the things? But when things spiral down. we go looking for Him only to find out He’s been there all along. I love how Annie captures the moments of the stories she shares in her words. They are a wonderful reminder to remember God and to see Him even in the midst of our hard stories because He’s right there helping us to finish them.

This story of His kindness, the one I’m about to tell you, WILL have an ending. And by the time we get there, God will have done it all, and I will know it and you will know it. And we will never forget Him. Remember that. Remember God.
