From my general observation, most of us moms feel like we’re not doing enough even when we’re doing too much. Instead of finding any balance or rhythm to our days, we’re just stretched too thin. Jessica Turner also authored The Fringe Hours which is about making time for the things that matter to us, writes about this mom guilt that many working moms feel trying to show up well for their workplaces and their families. She surveyed working moms to find out their stories and their struggles, and has come up with some practical ways to work smarter and thrive, as the title tagline suggests.
“It can be messy and complicated. But that doesn’t mean you can’t prosper and be joyful…Struggle, guilt, and failure are part of the hjourney, but these experiences are not the destination and should not define your life’s story. You can be a working mom who isn’t overwhelmed by her to-do list or constantly feeling as if she is failing at everything. You can and should be able to see the value in the work you do, appreciate your unique contributions to your family’s life, and look at life with positivity.”

Being a life-long learner and bookwormish means I read some pretty random things sometimes. I mean, if I run out of stuff, I read the backs of cereal boxes or car magazines. Sometimes it doesn’t even matter if it is stuff I agree with or not. I really think we can learn something from everything.
