  • Read with curiosity.
  • Take action toward growth.

  • Make time for reading.
  • Plan to post at least once a week in the group and comment on other members’ posts.
  • Respect. Don’t share others’ personal information or stories without their permission.
  • Find integrations/connections with the world around you.
  • This is not Fight Club. Please feel free to talk about Book Club. Often.

Best practice for posting in the book club group:

  • Start the post with your topic
  •      Question
  •      Thought
  •      Quote
  • Share which chapter or page you’re referring to
  • NO LINKS!
  • For the middle-grade fiction books, please do not share anything beyond where we are in the recommended schedule. DO NOT GIVE SPOILERS please and thank you.
  • If you’re not sure if you should share something, feel free to connect with me about it.

Example post 1:

#question

Why do you think Peter talked to Sue first instead of going directly to Joe about the mishap in the middle of Chapter 5?

Example post 2:

#thought

I really resonate with the story that the author shared in Chapter 7. Something like that happened to me when I was in elementary school and a classmate made fun of the food I brought for lunch. It really hurt my feelings and I can’t think about that food now without thinking about what happened.

Example post 3:

#quote

I love this quote in Chapter 3 on page 39.

“Our preferences for kindness, empathy, compassion, and a more measured pace will serve us well in taking care of ourselves, supporting our peers, and seeking out the purposes that have been uniquely designed for each of us.”
