This is the story of Jeremy Camp who meets Melissa while in college. From the first time he saw her, he had a connection. Over and over again, she senses that God is leading her to something different and bigger than what would have chosen for herself. Through heartaches and miracles and obstacles, we see how they continued in their faith journey together.

While this movie is a love story, it also has moments of humor and reflection. For lovers of astronomy, the analogy of shining as bright as the stars helps tie the movie together from the beginning to the end. It has a good balance of keeping to story but also highlighting the music. At times, the timeline was hard to keep up with but it was a great development of the characters as they were introduced and as they grew in their journey together.

This movie has a PG rating and I would agree with the FAQs on the film’s website that it’s your decision to let your pre-teens watch this but just a heads up that there are moments of frustration that leads to some throwing and smashing of things, as well as medical scenes that may be alarming for some young and/or sensitive viewers. But it is a powerful story of living through hardship but choosing to walk in faith and still believing in the God who created us.

  2. Sadly, I’m not a US HM leader, but thank you for this review – the longer the lockdown continues, the harder it becomes to find quality Christian movies to watch. I’ll definitely be adding this to my watch list.

  3. Good morning! Thank you for this giveaway to lift our spirits! I am an HM leader, which is where I saw the link to here. I wouls say one of my favorites right now is Overcomer, in my opinion the best Kendricks bothers movie yet!
