As a business major with a focus on finance, I have to say that personal finance and business finance are very different. And of course, there’s no class on adulting so personal finance had been a mystery until I started learning more about it.
I frequently have friends ask me what I’m reading or what I recommend, so hopefully, these posts are helpful in giving you some ideas. If there’s a certain topic you’re looking for, let me know and I’ll see if I can direct you to a book. 🙂

Being a life-long learner and bookwormish means I read some pretty random things sometimes. I mean, if I run out of stuff, I read the backs of cereal boxes or car magazines. Sometimes it doesn’t even matter if it is stuff I agree with or not. I really think we can learn something from everything.
Here’s my November Book:

From the back cover:
You and your money are meant for an exciting, adventurous, and satisfying purpose. God designed you, not to be a hoarder, but a conduit through which His generosity flows… The Money Challenge was written to help you experience God’s design for you and your finances.
I know not everyone will agree with the above statements. A budget or a financial plan seems so restrictive and rigid but while trying to get a few things straightened out, I have discovered it is exactly this knowledge that allows us to be better stewards of the things we’ve been given. It’s a challenge to give when you don’t have any money and when there’s no plan for where it goes, it can end up in the wrong places. All the stories I have heard about debt is that people didn’t even know they were so far into it until it was too late because it wasn’t a one-time thing but they spent a little here and a little there.
As a business major with a focus on finance, I have to say that personal finance and business finance are very different. And of course, there’s no class on adulting so personal finance had been a mystery until I started learning more about it. There’s still more to learn, I’m sure, but I’m thankful for resources like The Money Challenge to help us understand more about how to use our money wisely so we can live more and give more.
