What I’m Reading in December [Book List]

Growing up, we hosted a lot of people in our home but they were more like family since whoever stayed with us would be there for weeks or months at a time…and sometimes they were family – aunties, uncles, cousins, sometimes distant cousins, or a relative because we were from the same village. I wish I could say I acquired those hosting/preparing a feast meals at a lifegiving table, but that’s not the case…but I’d like to learn.

I frequently have friends ask me what I’m reading or what I recommend, so hopefully, these posts are helpful in giving you some ideas. If there’s a certain topic you’re looking for, let me know and I’ll see if I can direct you to a book. 🙂

UPDATE: Here’s My 2019 Book List >>> joycemoy.com/booklist2019 (monthly lists will be linked at the bottom of this post as they become published)

Being a life-long learner and bookwormish means I read some pretty random things sometimes. I mean, if I run out of stuff, I read the backs of cereal boxes or car magazines. Sometimes it doesn’t even matter if it is stuff I agree with or not. I really think we can learn something from everything.

Here’s my December Book:

While everyone who was in the house ate meals together (usually the four of us siblings and a grandma or two and possibly my mom…and on Mondays, all of us), we didn’t oftentime host meals (or maybe I’m remembering it wrong) that was much more than a warm meal in our bellies. Oh, sure there were conversations and laughter, and there are lots of great memories, but as an Asian family, I don’t think there was much connection between kids and adults or between the food and people. I can’t wait to dig into Sally’s book and learn more about the lifegiving table.

There you have it, my book for December 2019. I’ve also been pre-reading a few books for launches and you’ll probably see them here and there on social media as well. Follow along on my FB page and/or IG account for some inspiring quotes or more of my thoughts as I read.
