What I’m Reading in April [Book List]

I frequently have friends ask me what I’m reading or what I recommend, so hopefully, these posts are helpful in giving you some ideas. If there’s a certain topic you’re looking for, let me know and I’ll see if I can direct you to a book. 🙂

UPDATE: Here’s My 2018 Book List >>> joycemoy.com/booklist2018 (monthly lists linked at the bottom of post)

Being a life-long learner and bookwormish means I read some pretty random things sometimes. I mean, if I run out of stuff, I read the backs of cereal boxes or car magazines. Sometimes it doesn’t even matter if it is stuff I agree with or not. I really think we can learn something from everything. Soooo…I’m not sure there is ever a theme to each month’s books but…

Here’s my April Book List:

📚 1) *Number the Stars by Lois Lowry

I can’t say if we will or will not homeschool through high school because if God calls us to something else, we may just need to go. But that prompting has not come, so if we continue, the girls will end up reading this book from the book list for Challenge A(?). I don’t want to have to gather all the books when/if it comes time so I am buying them here and there…and reading them when I can. 🤓

📚 2) *Reading People by Anne Bogel

I’ve already read this one but I want to read it again! You can read my thoughts HERE. I completely agree with the two quotes that I posted in that post. When we understand more of who we are, it brings a clearer picture of how we fit into the world where we live. It also allows us to be more grace-filled, life-giving people to ourselves and those around us.

📚 3) *Lies Women Believe by Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuthe

The world certainly has changed a whole lot since the original edition of this book was released in 2001. While there are many lies that women believe back then, we also now have the extra challenges of navigating the world of social media and the seemingly many more tragedies in communities both near and far. I’m thankful for this updated and expanded edition to point me to truths to break the chains of the lies and negative messages we are often faced with in our daily lives.

There you have it, my books for April 2018. Follow along on my FB page for some inspiring quotes or more of my thoughts as I read.

    1. It’s a good one. It was my first time reading it. You may need some tissue on hand.

    1. So far, it’s okay. It definitely makes you think. I’m not sure I 100% agree with all of it. I’m glad for an updated and expanded version during to new “lies” that have popped up through the years.
